Doritos Valedictorian Gives
Voice to Class of 2020
2020 disrupted high school graduations across the country in a big way. Millions of students lost out on the opportunity to celebrate a major milestone in person — along with the usual speeches. A school year that was anything but typical deserved some not-so-typical graduation speeches.
That’s why Doritos partnered with iHeartRadio, to give members of the class of 2020 the chance to give an updated version of the valedictorian speech. However, instead of limiting submissions to students with the highest GPA, Doritos opened their call to submissions to any student who felt they had words which could inspire their graduating class.
The top five speeches earned their orators each $50,000 in tuition assistance. And the voices of the winning students were amplified alongside OG disruptors like Halsey, Becky G, and DJ Khaled on a special episode of the Commencement 2020 iHeartRadio podcast. By stepping in and encouraging students to boldly express themselves, Doritos and iHeartRadio helped to give a voice to the class of 2020 in a way that won’t be soon forgotten.
