Cisco Telepresence integration on "30 Rock"
idea
Integrate the Cisco Telepresence into the storyline of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning comedy “30 Rock,”ensuring that the brand's messaging are highlighted.
ignition
In the scene, NBC executive Jack Donaghy (played by Alec Baldwin) is featured interacting and communicating with fellow GE executives via a Cisco TelePresence 1300. In addition to significant visual branding throughout the scene, it also incorporated Cisco’s brand messaging, marketing tag line, and included four (4) Cisco verbal mentions.
Cisco and NBC teamed up to create co-branded banner ads on targeted business technology sites, including Business Week, New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal which drove consumers to CISCO.COM where they were able to get a sneak peek of that week’s episode, including the TelePresence integration.
In addition to the TelePresence exposure, we helped secure an excellent placement for Cisco’s newest acquisition – the Flip Video – which included both a verbal mention and a visual product shot, which helped launch a Flip-branded webisode series. NBC also created a Flip Video Gallery to showcase behind-the-scenes footage captured on Flip video cameras from “30 Rock” and various other NBC properties.
impact
Between the two episodes, Cisco garnered more than 14.17MM viewers during its premier broadcast run, not including incremental destination such as Hulu, NBC.COM, or YouTube.
